Microcredit operations under the Casa Verde Amarela program, which replaces Minha Casa Minha Vida, must be carried out through the Caixa Tem app, which should soon become a digital bank with operations authorized by the Central Bank.

This is a new development that was announced by the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Pedro Guimarães, during a press conference to announce results.
He said that Caixa Tem will initially provide microcredit to around 10 million people and that there is no possibility whatsoever of carrying out such a large operation through the digital bank.
According to Guimarães, 85% of Caixa Tem's real estate loans come from bank correspondents (such as lottery outlets and banking correspondents), which operate in locations where there are no branches. Therefore, Caixa Tem's services will meet Caixa's needs.
Growth of real estate credit
Guimarães confirmed that he will use PIX as a way to reinforce the security of transactions through the digital bank's mass credit programs.
According to the executive, the bank has already registered 18.5 million PIX keys, of which 47% people registered via Caixa Tem, which reveals an advance in the banking of the financial system.
"Banking is a fact. These people joined through Caixa Tem, became banked, and now have banking transactions, including through Pix," stated the Caixa president.
The state-owned company recorded the largest real estate loan contracting in history during the third half of 2020, totaling approximately R$1,510,000. This amount is R$3,510,000 higher than the amount recorded in the second half of the year and R$5,810,000 higher than the same period.
"We returned to pre-coronavirus operational levels and grew more than last year. The same was true for payroll loans," the executive stated. In payroll loans, total loans were R$21.9 million in the same period, an increase of R$60.61 million in the previous period and R$66.41 million in the same period in 2019.
