How to contest it?

It's important to check the status of your benefit. If it's denied, you can appeal through the benefit's website.

Verification is done using CPF (Brazilian tax identification number), full name, mother's name, and date of birth.

However, if preferred, the beneficiary can check through Caixa's channels: the emergency aid website or by calling 111.

Then, the "request appeal" icon will be displayed, showing the reason why the request was denied.

By clicking the “request dispute” button, the user will be asked if they wish to file a dispute. Upon confirmation, the request will be sent to Dataprev.

Reasons for request denial

  • Minor – Only teenage mothers can receive the benefit if they are minors;
  • Death certificate – If the CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) is listed as a death certificate for the holder, the request is denied.
  • Survivor's pension – Those already receiving this benefit cannot apply for emergency aid. However, if the information is incorrect, the worker can contest it.
  • Unemployment insurance – Those receiving unemployment benefits are also ineligible for emergency aid.
  • Active Siape registration – Federal public servants are not eligible to receive the emergency benefit, which is one of the reasons the request was denied;
  • Formal employment – People who have a formal employment contract are not eligible for the benefit;
  • Intermittent worker – Intermittent workers are also considered to have an employment relationship, therefore the benefit request will be denied;
  • Income above the aid ceiling – Those whose income exceeds the aid ceiling naturally have their request denied;
  • Social security or welfare beneficiary – In these cases, it is not possible to receive emergency aid.
