Emergency aid denied: Court provides a joint effort to contest the situation

The 2021 emergency aid program remains active for thousands of informal workers, including the unemployed and self-employed. According to the Federal Government, the program's renewal aims to serve 45 million people in 2021. Therefore, those who were denied emergency aid and were left out of the benefit have the chance to participate in a conciliation effort.

This joint effort was proposed by the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd region (TRF-2), which encompasses the states of Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.

This is because the volume of complaints involving the refusal of benefit payment has already reached more than 8,000, which shows that the Ministry of Economy has been denying recurring requests.

The Permanent Center for Consensual Methods of Dispute Resolution of the 2nd Region, under the command of the TRF-2, handles intermediation of cases with the Attorney General's Office (GU). With the 2021 aid renewal alone, there have already been 559 requests for denial of emergency aid.
