Cuts to emergency aid beneficiaries continue to grow. In this latest round of payments, more than 2 million citizens were left out. This is happening through a thorough review aimed at identifying fraud and preventing improper payments.

In June alone, over 1 million beneficiaries were cut off from their payments. However, so far, most of the cuts are due to improper payments. This happens in some situations.

When can emergency aid be canceled?

One of the main reasons for a freeze is when a beneficiary with no income starts earning money or their income increases. See:

  • The citizen who forged the document;
  • Public servants;
  • The citizen who did not have a formal job until then, but managed to get a job with a formal employment record;
  • Anyone who started receiving retirement or other benefits from the INSS.

To find out whether the benefit has been cancelled or not, the citizen must access the website Dataprev.

How do I request unlocking?

If your aid has been blocked for an improper reason, you can appeal the decision. On the Dataprev website, you can select the "appeal" option. Simply fill out a form and explain the situation. Then, wait for the review period.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, more than 1 million appeals were filed in the first months of 2021, but only 155 were analyzed and received responses. However, the Federal Government guarantees that all requests will be reviewed.
