Emergency aid can be deducted from INSS salaries

According to the Federal Government, citizens who are in the process of retiring and received emergency aid will have the amount deducted from their INSS salaries. Thus, the benefit will function as a kind of advance on retirement.

The government says that future INSS retirees who received emergency aid will have the amount deducted from their retroactive social security benefit. This deduction will be made automatically in a single installment.

The discount occurs because citizens who are entitled to INSS benefits are not eligible for emergency aid. Therefore, those who received financial aid will have to repay the amount to the government.

Emergency aid 2021

The 2021 emergency aid has been paid since April, and the government initially ordered four installments. This was supposed to end in July. However, due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Brazil, three more installments were extended.

Thus, the financial aid will be paid until October. According to Paulo Guedes, Minister of Economy, the payment of the aid will depend on the situation of the disease in Brazil and the progress of vaccination campaigns.

For this reason, Guedes did not rule out the possibility of a further extension. According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic will determine the number of installments of the 2021 emergency aid.

The schedule for the 5th, 6th, and 7th installments has not yet been released. However, the 4th installment has been brought forward. Check it out here!
