This benefit is provided for in the Organic Law of Social Assistance (LOAS). This law guarantees a monthly minimum wage to the elderly or people with disabilities.

4. Federal Government Benefits – Gas Assistance

The value of this voucher is R$50.00, that is, 50% of the average value of a 13-kilo domestic gas cylinder, however, in some states, this item is already costing much more than R$100.00.

Families are selected by the government and the amount is paid every two months for the next 5 years.
