Get to know Santander

Considered one of the main traditional banks here in the country, Santander has been operating in Brazil since the 1980s and, according to the bank itself, Santander is the 3rd largest private bank in the country in terms of assets.

Among the services offered by Santander are: investment funds, private pensions, credit and debit cards, insurance, consortiums, loans, financing, exchange, among others.

Today, the theme is one of the bank's newest products.

How the Santander SX card came about

The Santander SX card appeared on the market as a type of replacement for a previous product offered by the bank, Santander Free.

With the launch of Pix in Brazil, Santander decided to discontinue this card and create a new model that, thanks to its new features, would better adapt to the current situation and the changes brought about by Pix's arrival.

In this new product, the annual fee is 12x 33.25, but the customer has the option to eliminate this fee by following certain requirements – which will be explained throughout the text.

Is the Santander SX card a credit or debit card?

Now it's time to answer the burning question: is the Santander SX card a credit or debit card?

If you chose the Credit option, you got it right!

When choosing the card, the customer can monitor all purchases made in real time through the Santander Way app – available for Android and iPhone (iOS).

Additionally, you can also use the app to perform other services, such as checking invoices and statements, making payments, and even setting limits for additional cards, for example.

Benefits of the Santander SX card

Below, we list some of the benefits that the Santander SX card offers users:

Get rid of the annual fee

This is a factor that draws a lot of attention to the card.

After all, if there is one fee that is annoying – and which, depending on the situation, weighs heavily on the user's pocket – it is the annual fee.

With this card, the customer has two ways to avoid paying the annual fee.

The first option is to accumulate R$100 or more in purchases on your monthly statement. The second option is to register your CPF and cell phone number as a Pix key with Santander.

Special discounts from various partners

Ah, the good old discounts!

This type of benefit is one of the most attractive to new customers, regardless of the product or service offered.

And with the Santander SX card, customers also get this advantage!

Through the card, you participate in Santander Esfera, a network of partnerships that the bank has, which offers discounts and benefits to its customers.

Accumulating points allows customers to exchange them for products, services, and even gift cards from over 300 partners.

It is not necessary to be an account holder

Another advantage is that you don't need to be a bank account holder to apply for the Santander SX card.

This allows more customers to apply for the card without needing to have a current account with Santander, ensuring that this is a more accessible option for those looking for a credit card.

Who can apply?

As mentioned in the previous topic, unlike so many other banks and financial institutions that offer credit cards to their customers, it is not necessary to be a Santander account holder.

So any customer interested in purchasing the card can request theirs!

How to apply for the Santander SX card

Interested in getting a Santander SX card? We'll explain how to apply for yours!

To request your card, you must access the Santander website, fill out the application form and send it.

Your application will undergo an internal credit analysis and, if approved, you will receive the card at your home.

And what's more, if your application is approved, you don't have to wait for the physical card to arrive.

Just download the Santander Way app – available for Android and iOS – and generate a virtual card to make online purchases.

For customers who already have a Santander account, simply access the bank's app and look for the “Cards” option and then select the “Request new credit card” option.

Then, just choose the card, the due date, the way you want to receive the invoice – digital invoice through the bank's channels or by email – and fill in your address.

The option to choose the password and security key is also available in the app.

After that, you'll have access to the contract. If you agree, simply accept it and submit the form for review.

Is it worth having a Santander SX card?

If you're looking for something to use on a daily basis, with more routine purchases, this could be a great option.

With the guarantee that you will use at least R$ 100 every month, your card will be free of the annual fee.

This way, you can use it without any worries.
