Find out if you are entitled to two or four installments of R$300.00 in emergency aid.

At the time, Caixa Econômica Federal announced that deposits will occur automatically in digital savings accounts.

However, not all previously awarded beneficiaries will be entitled to the R$ 300.00 aid now.

This is because the benefit payment will only be valid while the Public Calamity Decree resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, a disease caused by the new coronavirus, expires in December 2020.

Therefore, those beneficiaries included in the first payment batch of R$ 600.00 for the month of April will be entitled to receive the four installments of R$ 300.00.

In turn, whoever received the first installment in May will be entitled to three monthly payments of R$ 300.00 and so on.

Therefore, this payment model aims to meet the deadline set by the Ministry of Citizenship for deposits that must be made by December 2020.

However, it is also worth mentioning that mothers who are heads of households will receive the amount of R$ 600.00 based on the new average of R$ 300.00.

However, those beneficiaries who established some type of employment relationship during this time, or who began receiving assistance from another transfer program or unemployment insurance, for example, will not be entitled to an extension of emergency aid.

It is also important to mention that the offer of the emergency benefit is based on the 2019 Income Tax declaration, so that, during the first phase that made available installments in the amount of R$ 600.00, the IR declaration equivalent to the year 2018 was considered.

The new value is governed by a Provisional Measure (MP) made by the Federal Government, which came into force immediately upon publication.

Broadly speaking, it was only necessary to meet the basic requirements to be eligible for emergency aid:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • It has a per capita income of up to the individual minimum wage or a family income of up to three current minimum wages.
