INSS establishes new rules that may block benefits; see

The National Social Security Institute (INSS) made a very important announcement. The agency announced that it will review temporary disability benefits.

The updated rules address scheduling and rescheduling medical examinations. They may also address the suspension or cancellation of benefits, in addition to exceptional circumstances.

Immediately after receiving the notice, the insured has 30 days to schedule a medical evaluation. To do so, simply visit the My INSSThe Institute expects to review 170,000 beneficiaries in this way.

The new rules were published in the Official Gazette of the Union. If the citizen is unable to attend on the scheduled date, only one reschedule will be permitted. The insured must justify this rescheduling.

However, the INSS agency may reschedule the exam date depending on the technical unforeseen circumstances.

Furthermore, the results of the examination should be available on the day of the exam. The results can be viewed through the call center (number: 135) or through the Meu INSS website.

Diseases that allow for permanent disability retirement

  • Hansen's disease;
  • Active tuberculosis;
  • Multiple sclerosis;
  • Mental alienation;
  • Malignant neoplasm;
  • Severe liver disease;
  • Blindness;
  • Severe heart disease;
  • Parkinson's disease;
  • Irreversible and disabling paralysis;
  • Acquired immune deficiency syndrome;
  • Radiation contamination.

It is worth mentioning that the list is not definitive; there may be cases that are not described in it that could result in incapacity for the worker.
