Second installment of the 13th begins to be paid
The second installment of the 13th salary for retirees and pensioners began to be paid this Monday (25). INSS (National Social Security Institute)

According to the information released, the deposit of this second installment will be made by June 5th.
Thus, this is one of the measures adopted by the Federal Government with the aim of reducing the economic impacts caused by the new coronavirus, which has greatly affected the pockets of Brazilians.
Therefore, the strategy was to advance the funds, which normally reach INSS retirees and pensioners only in the second half of the year.
After all, the 13th salary always tends to be paid between September and October, as happened in 2019.
So, in this year of 2020, the first installment was paid between the end of April and the beginning of May.
According to the government, more than 30.8 million beneficiaries of the INSS will receive the second installment of the 13th, which is equivalent to R$1,400,000.
Payment is made according to the benefit amount
Payment of the second installment, as with the first, is established according to the value of the benefit.
So, look:
- Who receives a minimum wage – the deposit will be made between May 25th and June 5th, according to the final number of the benefit, without taking into account the verification digit, together with the benefit for May;
- Anyone who earns more than the minimum wage – Payment will be credited between June 1st and 5th, together with the benefit for May.
Who is entitled to receive the second installment of the 13th?
According to the law, those entitled to the 13th salary during the year are those who received:
- Retirement;
- Survivor's pension;
- Sickness benefit;
- Accident assistance;
- Imprisonment assistance.
Therefore, those who receive welfare benefits, such as the Continuous Benefit Payment of the Organic Law of Social Assistance – BPC/LOAS and Lifetime Monthly Income – RMV, for example, are not entitled to this 13th.
