Unemployment insurance is aimed at workers who carry out their activities through a formal employment contract and who were dismissed without just cause, or who meet the other requirements covered by this benefit.

Unemployment insurance installments

The unemployment insurance amount changes based on the average salary of the three payments. Therefore, you may receive three to five installments of this amount, consecutive or not, depending on the number of times you've applied for the benefit and your length of employment.

Benefit value

The value is calculated based on the average of the last three salaries recorded on the pay stub. To calculate an average, simply add the salaries together and divide by three.

You can apply for unemployment insurance through the Digital Work Card app, available for Android and iOS. With the app downloaded to your device, simply:

  • Enter the Digital Work Card app;
  • Click on “enter”;
  • Enter your CPF;
  • Enter your password. If you don't have one, simply register in the app;
  • Then go to “benefit”;
  • Search for “unemployment insurance” then “apply”;
  • Then, click on “unemployment insurance application”;
  • Check that the information is correct and proceed;
  • Under “links”, check the details of the company you worked for and confirm that everything is correct;
  • Read carefully and click on “acceptance terms”;
  • Check “I agree with the rules for receiving the benefit” and confirm.
