The population that previously benefited from emergency aid, whose payments ended in December 2020, will be entitled to resources from the new microcredit program.

The topic will still be debated by the Minister of Citizenship, Onyx Lorenzoni, and the president of the Central Bank (BC), Roberto Campos Neto.
According to previously released information, the credits will range from R$1,500 to R$5,000. Caixa Econômica Federal, the financial institution responsible for depositing the benefits, is already able to release approximately R$10 billion for this new credit financing.
The argument for ending the emergency aid is that the federal budget is no longer capable of supporting the program. Therefore, it remains valid only for the current period of public calamity.
38 million Brazilians without emergency aid
The Federal Government's goal is to support the population considered "invisible" and who, until now, were working informally, without any assistance. In total, approximately 38.1 million Brazilians will fall into this category.
The government also mentions that people who used social program resources to purchase supplies necessary for their professional lives, even during the pandemic, may also be eligible for microcredit.
Among the resources used for the new program would be the so-called “compulsory deposits”, thus facilitating the progress from R$ 10 billion to R$ 25 billion allocated to this new credit line.
The Union also aims to develop a new social program to replace Bolsa Família. The initial idea was for it to be Renda Cidadã, but the proposal has already been canceled.
