Emergency aid
The benefit was created by Government Federal, through law no. 13,982 of April 2, 2020, with the aim of ensuring a minimum income for Brazilians in the most vulnerable situation during the period of facing the new coronavirus pandemic (covid-19).
To participate in this benefit you must meet the requirements, which are:
- Be over 18 years of age (except teenage mothers, who can receive even if they are minors);
- Have a monthly income of up to three minimum wages (R$ 3,135) per family;
- Have a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage (R$ 522.50) per capita – that is, per person in the family;
- Not having received more than R$ 28,559.70 in taxable income throughout 2018;
- Not receiving social security or welfare benefits, except for Bolsa Família – retirement, the continuous benefit, and unemployment insurance, for example.
Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC)
The Continuous Benefit Payment is provided for in the Organic Law of Social Assistance (LOAS), and is the guarantee of a minimum wage per month to the elderly aged 65 or over and to people who have some type of disability who prove that they do not have the means to provide for their own maintenance, nor to have it provided by the family nucleus.
In both situations, it is necessary to prove the low-income criteria per family group, regardless of the contribution to Social Security.
To have access to BPC, the family income is considered low when the sum of all the amounts that each person receives, divided by the number of people, is less than 2/4 of the current minimum wage.
Child Labor Eradication Program (PETI)
The Child Labor Eradication Program (PETI) is also one of the Government's benefits, which consists of a set of actions whose main objective is to remove children and adolescents, under 16 years of age, from early labor, except as apprentices from the age of 14, of course.
In this way, the program ensures direct income transfers to families, while also offering children and young people access to guidance and support services. To participate in this benefit, school attendance is required.
Harvest Guarantee
Garantia Safra consists of an action of the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Profan).
Therefore, farmers with a monthly family income of no more than 1.5 times the minimum wage and who plant between 0.6 and 5 hectares of corn, rice, beans, cassava and cotton are entitled to the benefit.
By joining the program, these workers begin to receive the benefit when the municipality in which they reside proves the loss of at least 50% of all these productions, or others to be determined by the managing body of the Fundo Garantia Safra, due to excess water or drought.
Closed Season Insurance
Unemployment insurance for artisanal fishermen consists of financial assistance that is granted temporarily to professional artisanal fishermen who, during the closed season (the period in which animals are protected to reproduce), are obliged to stop their activity for the preservation of the species and the sustainability of fishing activity in the region.
To be entitled to closed season insurance, the worker must prove that he or she carries out the work of protecting the fish, uninterruptedly, whether alone or as part of a family economy.
Family Allowance
The Bolsa Família program is already well-known, targeting families in poverty or extreme poverty. To participate, you need a monthly income of R$154.00 per person.
So, to continue receiving benefits, you must keep your children in school and monitor their health.
Retirement for low-income people
Housewives or people who do domestic work in their own homes, who do not have their own income and who are part of families with a monthly income of up to 2 minimum wages, can contribute to Social Security with 5% of the minimum wage.
In this way, they can retire based on age, receive sickness benefits, survivor's pensions, imprisonment benefits and maternity pay.
Social Electricity Tariff Program
The Social Electricity Tariff program offers a discount on electricity bills for families with low incomes of up to half the minimum wage per person or who have some benefit from BPC Loas.
The discount ranges from 10% to 65%, being greater for those who consume less electricity.
Indigenous and quilombola families with an income of up to half the minimum wage pay nothing up to a consumption limit of 50 kW.
Exemption from payment of registration fees for public tenders
Candidates with a family income of up to 3 minimum wages, or with an income per person of up to half the minimum wage, have the right to waive the registration fee for public competitions held by the Federal Government.

Youth ID
The Youth Identity, or simply Youth ID, is a document that allows access to the benefits of half-price tickets to events and also free places or discounts on the interstate public transport system, in accordance with Decree 8,537/2015.
Senior Citizen Card
The Senior Citizen Card is a benefit intended for people aged 60 or over who have an individual income of up to 2 minimum wages, but who are unable to prove this income.
With this card, seniors can get free or discounted travel on interstate bus, boat and train trips.
Free pass for people with disabilities
The free pass for people with disabilities is a benefit from the Ministry of Infrastructure that guarantees that people with disabilities, who are demonstrably unable to do so, have free access to public transportation.

One of the best-known government benefits is Minha Casa Minha Vida, which aims to help finance home ownership by reducing installments and offering low rates.

The National Program for Access to Technical Education and Employment aims to offer places to low-income people in professional qualification courses for insertion into the job market.

Program to Promote Rural Productive Activities
These are benefits paid to families of small farmers living in poverty and the provision of technical assistance services so that they can produce or increase agricultural production.
This way, the family can improve their diet and increase their income by selling what they produce.
Popular Telephone
Landline telephone offer with lower rates for all families with up-to-date registration with CadÚnico.
The beneficiary of this program has the right to 90 minutes per month to make calls to other landlines in the same city, paying only R$ 15.00 per month.
Green Bag
It is a benefit intended for extremely poor families living in environmental conservation areas, such as National Forests, Settlement Projects, riverside territories, Extractive Reserves and Social Development Reserves.
FGTS (Guarantee Fund for Length of Service)
The FGTS is the Severance Indemnity Fund, a benefit intended for employees with formal employment contracts, where a percentage of their gross salary is deposited into the account each month.
Therefore, the amount can be withdrawn in the following situations:
- Dismissal without just cause;
- Retirement;
- Closure of the employing company;
- Buying your own home;
- Termination of a temporary worker's employment contract;
- Lack of paid activity for a casual worker for 90 days or more;
- Termination of the contract by mutual agreement between the worker and the employee;
- Age over 70 years;
- Serious illness of the worker, wife or child, or in the case of the terminal stage of any disease.
