The published decree made it clear that beneficiaries who fail to complete this procedure will have their benefits blocked or suspended.
It's important to remember that the INSS (Brazilian National Social Security Institute) proof of life requirement was suspended in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a way to circumvent the situation, some beneficiaries were allowed to complete the proof of life process online.
In this new phase, the goal remains the same, aiming to serve over 5 million beneficiaries who will be able to complete the proof of life process without leaving home.
For this to be done, however, it is necessary to have a cell phone with a front-facing camera so that facial biometrics can be performed.
Proof of life calendar
For those who have not yet completed the proof of life process online, a schedule has been released indicating that the mandatory process for INSS beneficiaries will resume in May.
Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the due date and from when the benefit may be suspended or blocked due to lack of proof.
