Survey

Another phase of INSS (Brazilian National Social Security Institute) inspections will begin. According to the agency, all those receiving sickness benefits will have their files reviewed by its staff to verify if the rules and documents meet the requirements that validate the granting of the benefit.

Dubbed "Operation Fine-Tooth Comb," the inspection has been ongoing for months and its main purpose is to cut off beneficiaries who show signs of ineligibility according to the rules established for each benefit.

What are the requirements to remain on sick leave?

According to INSS legislation, to access sickness benefits, the citizen will need to:

  • Having made 12 monthly contributions to Social Security;
  • He is temporarily unable to work;
  • To provide medical reports proving the health problems that prevent the individual from working;
  • Being absent from work for more than 15 consecutive days due to illness;
  • Being absent from work for more than 15 consecutive days within a 60-day period due to the same illness.

Anyone with registration errors will be notified by the agency before payment is suspended, allowing time to correct any identified errors.

In most cases, the summons occurs when the citizen has faulty, illegible, or outdated documents.

All consultations can be carried out by MY INSS to facilitate this issue and its regularization;
