Thus, the Federal Government informed that it will transfer the unwithdrawn amounts from PIS/PASEP to the Severance Indemnity Fund.

This information was confirmed in March during a live broadcast by President Jair Bolsonaro.

Thus, the initiative depends directly on Congressional approval and can begin to come into effect through a provisional measure.

These PIS/PASEP fund quotas are intended for formal workers and civil servants who were active between 1971 and October 4, 1988.

Remember that PIS is intended for employees of private companies, while PASEP is intended for public servants.

Workers and heirs of those who had formal income during the period mentioned above may be entitled to PIS/PASEP.

In turn, those who did not make the withdrawal can recover the amounts at Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil.

As a Caixa customer and eligible for PIS, the credit is automatically transferred to your account, taking into account the payment schedule.

For amounts up to R$ 3,000.00, withdrawals can only be made with the citizen card and password at lottery outlets and the corresponding Caixa Aqui self-service.

If the amounts were above R$ 3,000.00, withdrawals must be made at Caixa branches upon presentation of a photo ID.

How to withdraw?

For those who work in a private company, withdrawals can be made through lottery outlets or Caixa Aqui representatives and even at ATMs using the Citizen Card and password.

In turn, workers who do not have a card must withdraw money at the service counter of Caixa Econômica Federal branches.

Who can make the withdrawal?

This withdrawal must be made by workers who were registered in the PIS/PASEP fund up to 01/04/88 and who have not yet withdrawn the benefit.

In the case of public employees, it is necessary to find out about withdrawing quotas from Banco do Brasil.

However, in the event of the death of the shareholder, the payment may be directed to dependents, but for this it is necessary to present some documents:

  • Birth certificate of dependents eligible for a survivor's pension from the INSS;
  • Certificate given by the employer, in the case of public servants;
  • Formal Sharing / Public Deed of Inventory and Sharing (Judicial or Extrajudicial);
  • Warrant designating the successor or legal representative, mentioning the PIS to which the beneficiary refers;
  • Identity card of the successor or legal representative (in the absence of a certificate of qualified dependents;
  • If there is consensus among the successors, the withdrawal of the balance will not depend on inventory, judicial authorization or over-sharing, it being sufficient that they sign a written term authorizing the withdrawal and declaring that there are no other known successors.
