The retroactive payment is intended for beneficiaries who were entitled to an amount greater than the R$ advance payment of 1,045.00.

In total, approximately 1.1 million beneficiaries received the benefit in advance. Of these, 600,000 will have their cases automatically reviewed and may receive the amounts related to this revision.

However, not everyone will receive this difference, as the benefit amount may change after this analysis is performed.

In October, for example, the agency will pay the differences to 497,000 insured individuals who had their advance payments granted up to July 2, 2020.

Payment of the difference

Those insured whose average sickness benefit salary is above R$ 1,045.00 are entitled to the differences.

Therefore, the amount is determined based on the adjustment and the length of absence, that is, by the total of the installments received.

Regarding payment, it will be made to a checking account, directly at the bank teller, or via withdrawal using a debit card.

The INSS (Brazilian National Social Security Institute) will send letters to beneficiaries who are entitled to the difference, containing information about the recalculation, as well as the total amount due.

In addition, those interested can check if they will receive back payments through the website or the app. My INSS.

Requests for early payment are accepted until the 30th.

Workers who are unable to perform their work can request early payment of sickness benefits from INSS until today, Monday (30).

This advance payment provides for the payment of R$ 1,045.00, one minimum wage, without the need for a medical examination.

The request can be made through the app or Meu INSS (My INSS). Simply access the platform and attach the medical certificate, which must meet the following requirements:

  • Estimated period of rest required;
  • It must be legible and without erasures;
  • Signature and stamp of the physician, in addition to registration with the Regional Council of Medicine (CRM);
  • Information about the disease or its International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code.
