Emergency Aid – Step-by-step guide to opening a Digital Social Savings Account
As many people are having difficulty opening their Digital Social Savings account to receive emergency aid, Caixa Econômica Federal has released a step-by-step guide.

Therefore, informal workers, unemployed people, INSS and MEIS contributors who are entitled to the benefit can register through the Caixa website or app and choose to receive the money through Caixa Digital Social Savings.
Remember, this account will be a savings account, completely free of maintenance fees, and can even be used through the Caixa Tem app.
Anyone who receives credit through this account will be able to make unlimited transfers between Caixa accounts or make up to 3 transfers to other banks free of charge each month for the next 90 days.

However, first of all, you need to check whether your Emergency Aid has been approved. To do this:
1 – Open the Caixa Auxílio Emergencial app on your cell phone and then click on “Track your application”
2 – Enter your CPF numbers and click on “I’m not a robot”;
3 – Enter your full name, date of birth and mother’s name;
4 – A code will be sent via SMS to the phone number you used to register with the app. Enter the code in the "Code Received" field. Remember to save these numbers, as they are valid for 24 hours.
5 – You will see an approval message and the amount will be sent to Poupança Social Digital Caixa.
Step by step guide to opening a Caixa digital account
Therefore, if approved, below is the step-by-step guide to opening Digital Social Savings:
- Download the app at Apple Store or Google Play;
- With the application installed and open, you must click on “I am a beneficiary”;
- Enter your CPF numbers;
- Use the numbers you received via SMS again, so it's important to save them, as they are valid for 24 hours;
- Next, the following message will appear on the screen: "We're almost ready. In the next steps, you'll create a username and password to use your new Digital Social Savings account."
- Press “continue” to open the Caixa Tem screen;
- Log in if you're already registered with other apps, such as FGTS or Caixa Habitação. If you're not registered, enter your personal information, such as your full name and CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry).
- Enter your date of birth and email address;
- Choose a strong password and then click “I’m not a robot”;
- Open your email and click the link to confirm the information;
- Return to the app, log in with your CPF number and the password you created;
- Enter your cell phone number and home zip code;
- Click on “emergency aid”;
- Then “check the assistance in Digital Social Savings”;
- You may need to answer some questions and it takes a lot of attention to answer correctly;
- On the next screen, go to “receive code” and enter the new number received by SMS;
- Finally, go to "Check my digital social savings account." You can check your balance, statement, and make transfers and payments.
