The measure was taken by the Federal Government as a way to reduce the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Brazilians' pockets and also on the country's economy.
1 – FGTS anniversary withdrawal
The first option to be released is the anniversary withdrawal, which is already in effect.
Thus, the rule allows for the withdrawal of part of the worker's money once a year. Therefore, the calendar follows the rule based on the beneficiary's birthday month.
Therefore, those born in January and February will receive this first batch, so that the schedule only ends in February of next year for those born in December.
Check out the complete FGTS anniversary withdrawal calendar below:
- Born in January and February – April to June 2020;
- Born in March and April – May to July 2020;
- Born in May and June – June to August 2020;
- Born in July – July to September 2020;
- Born in August – August to October 2020;
- Born in September – September to November 2020;
- Born in October – October to December 2020;
- Born in November – November 2020 to January 2021.
How to join the anniversary withdrawal?
Registration for the anniversary withdrawal is done online. Workers can access the Caixa FGTS website, available for Android and iOS.
Additionally, if you prefer, you can also join through the FGTS portal.
Caixa customers with current or savings accounts can also access them through Caixa Internet Banking.
2 – Emergency Withdrawal
The second withdrawal modality is the emergency withdrawal of R$ 1,045.00, per active or inactive account, which should begin on June 15th.
This modality still depends on the approval of the Federal Congress to come into effect.
However, this shouldn't take long, as, due to the coronavirus crisis, voting should be expedited within two weeks.
Therefore, this emergency withdrawal is scheduled to start on June 15th and continue until December 31st, 2020.
In addition, the amount released is up to R$ 1,045.00 (one minimum wage) for informal workers who have active or inactive accounts.
Caixa Econômica Federal will also be responsible for this payment and for establishing the official calendar.
It is worth noting that this money comes from the reserves of those who worked between 1971 and 1988, but who, even with authorization from the Federal Government, have not sought the funds up to the present moment.
