15,000 Bolsa Família loan now available
Progredir, a set of actions by the Federal Government that aims to promote autonomy through the generation of employment and income for families registered in the Single Registry for Federal Government Social Programs and beneficiaries of Bolsa Família, has opened up opportunities for low-income micro-entrepreneurs who are registered in the Single Registry and Bolsa Família beneficiaries.

According to the project, microentrepreneurs will be able to access credit under special conditions to undertake business.
To this end, the program released a total of R$1.5 billion for microcredit operations under the Progredir plan. Beneficiaries may request up to R$1.5 billion.
The plan combines professional training, support for entrepreneurship, and guidance into the job market to help strengthen individual capabilities and generate socioeconomic independence.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, the expectation is that around 1.5 million people will benefit from this resource.
By May, R$3.3 billion had been released and used by this public to start their own business and thus generate income.
The program is aimed at citizens who are in a vulnerable state and who at other times would not have access to credit due to lack of collateral, a joint guarantee was created.
However, to avoid default, if a participant in the modality fails to fulfill their obligations, all other participants collect the amount due. Therefore, the default rate was 1% of the transactions.
