New rules for emergency aid – Check here
The payment of the 2021 emergency aid will undergo a thorough review that will exclude half of the previous beneficiaries, as the Government cross-referenced more than eleven databases, such as CNIS, CAGED, INSS, and even Income Tax, to determine who should actually receive the benefit.

Therefore, with just the CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID number), it is already possible to understand the applicant's situation and whether or not they are entitled to the aid.
Who is ineligible to receive it?
Those who receive emergency aid are prohibited from receiving:
- Retirement;
- Unemployment insurance;
- Pension;
- Any welfare benefit (except for Bolsa Família).
According to last year's rules, which will still be taken into account for these new payments, those whose family income exceeds 3 minimum wages or whose income exceeds half a minimum wage per person will also not be eligible.
Values of the emergency aid in 2021
The rules regarding the amounts have also changed, and this year the aid will be paid in a smaller amount. According to information already released, the family unit will be taken into consideration. See below:
- Women with children – R$ 375.00;
- Families consisting of one person – R$ 150.00;
- For all other situations – R$ 250.00.
Payments are expected to begin on March 18th for those who are beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família program, and by the end of the month, payments will be extended to other individuals.
Furthermore, just like last year, payment must be made through the Caixa Tem app.
