Senate approves suspension of INSS proof of life until December
The Senate approved a substitute bill from the Chamber of Deputies that aims to suspend proof of life until the end of this year.

The senator maintained the substitute presented by federal deputy Danilo Cabral of PSB-PE, which was approved in the Chamber on July 14.

“The most appropriate thing for the current moment is to promote the suspension of such procedure, until December 31, 2021, hoping that by then Brazilians will already be immunized by vaccination [against Covid-19], which is why we are in favor of accepting the new text proposed by the Chamber of Deputies.”
In view of this, the senator emphasized that there is a great threat of contamination of the population, especially by the delta variant of the Coronavirus.
And only 24% of the population is fully immunized with both doses of the vaccine.
Kajuru also stated during the session that by June, 23.6 million of the 36 million beneficiaries had already provided proof of life.
That is, 12.3 million people may have their benefits blocked because they did not provide proof of life.
What is INSS proof of life?
The INSS represents the National Social Security Institute, which is responsible for paying retirement and other types of benefits such as sickness benefit, maternity pay, accident benefit, survivor's pension and imprisonment benefit.
