Of the total accumulated, R$ 22.8 billion refers to the PIS/PASEP fund quota, transferred to the FGTS (Brazilian Severance Indemnity Fund). In addition, R$ 1.2 billion comes from previously unwithdrawn funds. Finally, approximately R$ 500 million is from this year's bonus payment.

Caixa finished paying out the bonuses on June 30th. However, it is still possible to access the funds.

Workers who have not yet withdrawn their bonus will have to wait for the next release period to do so. According to the Deliberative Council of the Worker's Support Fund, the money remains available for withdrawal for up to 5 years.

For this reason, benefits not withdrawn by June 30th will be made available for payment again. However, this will only occur in subsequent payment schedules, until the deadline is reached.

What is a salary bonus?

The salary bonus refers to a maximum value of one minimum wage. It is intended for workers according to what is stipulated by law. Payment is made according to the annual calendar determined by Codefat.

Caixa is the institution responsible for paying the bonus, linked to private companies. In turn, public sector workers receive it through Banco do Brasil.
