Last week to register for emergency aid

The deadline for registering for emergency aid, granted by the Federal Government to members of families considered low-income and informal workers who have been economically impacted by the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, is approaching.

Who is entitled to emergency aid?

To register for emergency aid, you must be 18 years old and meet the following requirements:

  • Belong to a family where the monthly income per person does not exceed half the minimum wage (R$ 522.50), or whose total family income is up to three minimum wages (R$ 3,135.00); 
  • You cannot be receiving any social security or welfare benefits, unemployment insurance or other federal income transfer program, except Bolsa Família;
  • You cannot have received taxable income in excess of R$ 28,559.70 in 2018;
  • You must be unemployed or working as: Individual microentrepreneur (MEI); Individual Social Security contributor; or Informal worker, of any nature, including intermittent inactive workers.

Who is not entitled?

The citizen who:

  • Belongs to a family with an income greater than three minimum wages (R$ 3,135.00) or whose monthly income per person in the family is greater than half the minimum wage (R$ 522.50);
  • Have formal employment;
  • Are you receiving unemployment insurance;
  • Are you receiving social security, welfare or federal income transfer benefits, with the exception of Bolsa Família;
  • Received taxable income above the ceiling of R$ 28,559.70 in 2018, according to the Income Tax return.

How do I register for emergency aid?

To register, simply access the emergency aid website or app and follow the instructions below:

  • Click on “register”;
  • Read the requirements carefully to make sure you meet all of them;
  • Click on “I declare that I have read and am aware that I meet the conditions” and “I authorize the access and use of my data to validate the information above”;
  • Then, click on “I want to continue”;
  • Enter the requested data correctly;
  • When you finish filling it out, click on “I’m not a robot” and then on “continue”;
  • Enter a cell phone number, and a code will be sent to it, which must be entered in the “received code” field;
  • Enter your income, professional activity, state and city;
  • Then include family member information;
  • Enter your bank details.

The last screen will display the entire completed registration, which must be reviewed carefully.

Therefore, if everything is correct, just click on “I have read and agree”, then send the data.
