Project provides for an additional 2,000 INSS bonus

Insured persons registered with the INSS (National Institute of Social Security), whether retired, pensioned or benefiting from the BCP (Continuous Benefit Payment), are still waiting for the continuation of the procedures related to the Legislative Suggestion (SUG) authored by Jefferson Brandão Leon, which mentions the payment of an extra R$ 2 thousand.

The measure, which provides for the payment of an extra allowance in the amount of R$1,400,000, was officially registered on June 19, 2019, and since then has collected around 26,000 signatures in favor of its implementation.

Given this favorable repercussion of the project, Senator Paulo Paim (PT-RS) welcomed the measure, which is currently being analyzed in the Federal Senate.

As described in the text, retirees, pensioners and other INSS insured persons should have received their respective payment by December 31, while the Decree of a state of public calamity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic was in effect.

It is worth mentioning that the SUG provides for the payment of the allowance to those insured who currently receive a maximum amount of up to three minimum wages per month.

The new proposal was made with the aim of acting as another tool in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, although it was not possible to put it into practice in the first few months while the situation was more serious and worrying.

However, considering that the measure is still being processed by federal authorities, there is still hope that it will be considered soon with a view to helping INSS beneficiaries.

Remembering that the procedures can be monitored directly on the Federal Senate website.

However, there are those who believe that it is impossible for the project to still reach approval, given that the text provided for the payment of an extra R$ 2 thousand allowance during the period of public calamity, which ended on December 31.
